Here's Alayna & I on our 3rd day in London :)

How adorable is she?? I love this outfit on her the most.

My shoes for the day

I am obsessed with these boots. I actually have another leopard boots which I had bought for this trip. But then when I saw these, my heart just stopped. Leopard AND spikes? My two favourite things! I just had to get it. In the end, the other pair is just collecting dust at home.

Don't worry guys, when I'm over the spike phase, I will come find you ok?

I posted this picture on Instagram. Then I got comments and emails asking me how to get this look.

It's pretty much everything that I have listed out here. Let me break it down to you guys on the exact products that I used:

MAC strobe cream (mixed with)
Laura Mercier silk creme foundation
Stage concealer
Laura Mercier secret brightening powder
MAC Studio Fix powder

Urban Decay Naked Palette 1 - Virgin for brow bone
Urban Decay Naked Palette 1 -  Naked for lids

No filter

Hefe filter on Instagram.
Awesome effect right? Love how it emphasises my eyes and makes my hair look jet black. I wish my hair is that black everyday.

Alrighty, that's all for now. We're going out in a bit then I gotta pack and sleep early because we're leaving for our 2nd destination tomorrow morning I can't freaking wait!!

Take care everyone. Have a great weekend!

London, we meet again :)

We're in London guys! Arrived here on 24th of December 7am local time. Would love to write more but I need to catch on some sleep because we're gonna hit the malls later for the crazy boxing day sale! Brrrrrrring it on!

In the meantime, I will post some pics from Day 1 and Day 2 taken from my Instagram. Not much because I have yet to transfer pictures from the DSLR.

Day 1: Harrods within 2 minutes walk from our apartment. I'm gonna get so fat from eating Laduree macarons everyday.

Day 1: Hyde Park. Alayna was so happy to see the pigeons and squirrels

Day 2: Buckingham Palace

A few weeks back we dined at Ploy for the first time. I chose Ploy because they serve mentaiko pasta, which i LOVE.

The iPad has pictures of all the items on the menu

This certainly caught my attention

Thai Ice Tea & Sour Plum

Enter the dragon

Crispy squid. This is sooo addictive!

Mentaiko Spaghetti =D

An ok only fish.

Molten Cake

Durian Pannacotta.

If you love durians, you have GOT to try this pannacotta. It definitely can't beat Mandarin Oriental's durian pancake but this is a close second.

The entrance

Back to basics. White dress, nude pumps & red lips.

Love the zipper detail

Inspired by Megan Fox. If I can't look like her, I'll just dress like her hahahaha

Caught Red Handed

Packing for a trip is a long and an excruciating process for me. Because I don't just open my wardrobe, rummage through, and pick pieces that catch my eyes.

The thing is..

I prepare an excel worksheet. *cricket sound*

Yes I have a worksheet of my daily outfits when I travel. You can all laugh but I don't care hehe. The excel file will show everything that I'm bringing; shoes, bags, tops, etc. And at the bottom there will be a table that specifies what to wear with what on what day.

It's really very systematic.

Nadri knows I do this. When he first found out a few years back, he looked at me as if I was deranged. But I never let him see the list. Mainly because he would freak out if he sees the amount of items I'm taking. Which is also why I usually pack when he's busy playing ps3.

He is always egging me to pack light but I'm sorry, a girl just doesn't pack light buddy. It's against our nature. If we could, we would bring our whole entire wardrobe.

So anyway, a few days ago I was on the bed doing my excel worksheet. Then I fell asleep.

The next morning..

Him: So... You're bringing THIRTEEN coats and 6 pairs of shoes on the trip?!

Oh. Crap.

He saw my sacred, top-secret worksheet.

He also found out that out of the 13 coats, 10 were recently bought.

I was so annoyed with myself. All those efforts that I made to sneak the paper bags in so that he wouldn't know that I have been shopping for the trip just went down the drain.

But before he could say anything else, I distracted him by telling a cute story about Alayna (which I may have exaggerated a bit to make it more adorable). After that he was all smiling and totally forgot about it.

Phew. Thank you Alayna mommy will buy you a new toy!

Almost One

This morning I had to email Alayna's pictures to the decorator for her birthday party. I wanted to have her pictures from day 1, 1st month, 2nd month and so forth as part of the photo booth deco.

Yesterday at her gymboree class

These pictures made me realise how much she has really grown. She's practically a little lady already! She couldn't even move her head before and now she wants to get down from the bed by herself.

I feel truly blessed to be able to spend most of my everyday with her, to be there during all of her milestones. I could just let the grandmas or the maid babysit her while I go out 9-5, but I don't want to.  She is my priority and nothing gives me more joy than spending as much time as I can with her.

Man, I never thought I'd enjoy being a mom this much :')

My Entertainment At Night

The funniest thing just happened.

Both Nadri & Alayna were sleeping. I came out of the shower and the sound of me closing the bathroom door startled him. He woke up, accidentally knocked the teddy bear and a pillow on the floor, looked around with a dazed expression, saw the teddy bear on the floor, and asked me;

"Syg, why did you let Alayna sleep on the floor?"

I had to suppress my laughter because I didn't want to wake her up. Nadri fell asleep and I took this picture:

Alayna, Nadri & Mr Teddy on the floor

The teddy bear is almost as big as him and he thought it was Alayna? -______-

It's not the first time that something like this happened. Ever since Alayna was born, Nadri has become a light sleeper. I guess subconsciously he's worried that she might fall off the bed or something. The slightest sound would wake him up and he'd frantically check to see if Alayna is ok. I feel bad for him because it interrupts his sleep.

But sometimes, it is just too damn hilarious.

Like one time he woke up in the middle of the night and thought that I was Alayna. He started playing peek-a-boo with me. I swear to God I almost died of laughter.

Putting Things Into Perspective

It is very easy to get caught up with our issues that we sometimes forget to be grateful with what we already have.

For example, whenever I'm in bad traffic, I would get in such a foul mood. Everything would irritate me, I would rant on Twitter and if Nadri happens to call me at the time, prepare to be snapped at dude.

There was this one day, I was stuck in a crawl and it was raining so you can imagine how ridiculous the traffic was. I was on dragon-lady mode as usual. Then I looked to my left and saw a couple riding on the motorcycle, braving the rain. Both soaking wet. There I was, complaining about the traffic while sitting comfortably in my car, with air conditioning, listening to the radio.

Just now, I read about this elderly couple who can't even afford to pay for their monthly rent of RM120. The husband has a terminal illness, the wife has cancer. I instantly thought about how I've been stressing out since this morning on whether I should buy another pair of boots or not for the trip. It seemed like such a big deal then, now after reading that article, I just feel like a spoilt brat.

My point is, whenever we feel like we're in a dilemma  or we're whining about a stressful situation, let's take a step back and appreciate what we have and thank God for all of His blessings no matter how big or small, because there are people out there who are worse off. Who knows, it might make us realise that our 'big problem' is not such a problem after all.

I hope I'll always remember this but to be honest, I get carried away quite easily. Only when I see the less fortunate, I'll snap back to reality.

Having said all that, it doesn't mean that we should be complacent. It's ok to work hard to get more, but remember to say thanks and give back to those in need.

Just my two cents :)

I miss Melbourne :(

I bought something online last month which I have yet to receive. So I contacted the seller and she said she will give me the tracking details and said "unfortunately at this time of the year, shipping to Australia is really bad".

I freaked out because I had told her to ship to my Malaysian address, instead of my old Aussie address. So I emailed her again and while waiting for her reply, I googled the Aussie apartment that Nadri & I used to live in while we were studying in Melbourne to get the phone number, just in case the item was sent there and no one to pick it up.

Apparently the owner is selling the apartment. I found these pictures of the apartment from a listing on  a property website.  Can't help but feel all nostalgic and emotional when I look at them:

This is where we used to sit and watch The Masterchef Australia on Friday nights and watch The Biggest Loser where I would cry my eyes out (every single time) and he would laugh at me. Sometimes the red couch makes a cameo in our pics.

See the red couch? Hehe

Nadri actually survived 2 years in Melbourne with my cooking ok!! *flips hair*. This is a big deal because I don't cook. I blame my mom. She doesn't like us making a mess in the kitchen. After we got married, my extended family requested for me to cook. So I did. I made asam pedas ikan pari and 2 other dishes I forgot. I started cooking at 6pm. Everyone ended up having dinner at 10.30 pm. Cooked for 4 hours plus but the dishes were mediocre only. I was worried about having to cook for him in Aussie. But It's true what they say, when you live abroad, you WILL figure out how to cook.

My signature lamb cutlets. Takes less than an hour to prepare.
But gone within minutes. It's THAT good *blows nails*
Sometimes he would cook for me :')

Check out that minuscule wardrobe next to the bathroom! Can't even fit my jeans geez. The owner must be a dude. The bedroom as you can see is quite small, the double bed takes most of the space already.

Him playing CS on the bed (lecture notes used as mouse pad -_____-)

While I study *nerd*

I love the bathroom! Really awesome lighting and the huge mirror is a plus. Perfect place to camwhore hahaha.

I still remember how my heels were all lined up on each sides of the corridor from the entrance to the kitchen. Puts a smile on my face every time I come home.

So colourful right?? If you go to Melbourne and you're strolling on Swanston Street, you won't miss it. It's unit 528 Swanston Street. Just 5 minutes walk from Melbourne Uni and the city.

In front of the building

18th May 2008. 1st wedding anniversary ^.^

The elevator. OMG why is he so serabai? O.o

The tram stop is right across the building. Convenient, but usually we prefer to walk. The weather over there is cool and fresh, unlike KL.

At the tram stop. The apartment is right behind

Waiting for the tram to go to uni for my graduation :')
The pictures of the apartment certainly brought back a lot of good memories. I miss those days where we were young and carefree and didn't have to worry about paying bills haha. We just had to get good grades. The best part was, we only had to take 4 subjects per semester (compared to 8 subjects when I was in UiTM, classes were 8.30-6pm everyday). We also had audio lectures for certain subjects which means that we could just listen to the lecture in our PJs on the bed instead of going to Uni. So imagine how much free time we had to just be silly, chill, enjoy each other's company, roam the city and have chocolate souffl├ęs at Max Brenner.. The perfect way to start a marriage, I'll never forget :)

Ok, must make a point to go back to Melbourne soon!
